Whilst for some companies it has been a frustrating period of time due to the pace of the rebuilding of Christchurch, at Allerton Recruitment we have been busy strengthening our relationships with major organisations across the building and civil engineering sectors.

We have been involved with the successful placement of numerous candidates ranging from board level appointments to graduates. We have also recently taken on Virdi Taki who is working for us on an industry based learning placement. This is the final paper of her degree in Human Resources and she’s currently busy coordinating our marketing and candidate services.

Looking forward to the next 12 months, we are expecting to see an increase in activity in the Canterbury region. More emphasis will be placed on management positions, as well as Quantity Surveyors, as the rebuilding process starts to gather momentum. Also the increased presence of small and medium sized developers in the Auckland region and the ever growing population should equate to more construction in the country’s largest city.
